Esto es todo lo que tengo en mi nueva aplicación, pero sigo recibiendo el problema de la gema mysql2 que faltaba.

Tengo Snow Leopard 10.6.5 con X Code 3.2.4 instalado.

De hecho, tenía el adaptador equivocado configurado en mi base de datos.yml

Entonces la solución es

development: adapter: mysql2 database: development_database username: root password:

En lugar de

adapter: mysql

Si está viendo esto recientemente, es porque mysql2 0.3 eliminó el Adaptador ActiveRecord, que ahora es parte de Rails 3.1
