Aquí hay una versión que usa la forma recomendada por Microsoft de determinar si el VC Redistributable está instalado. Solo necesitaba VC 2015, por lo que deberá adaptar valores y parámetros para otras versiones:

Como no desea saber qué versión mínima del paquete redistribuible de Visual C ++ necesita, aquí tiene el ejemplo de código desde el que puede compilarlo usted mismo. Lo único que puedo decirle es que definitivamente debe usar el parámetro Check condicional, las soluciones que intentan instalar el marco o las bibliotecas de tiempo de ejecución cuando se abre el asistente son incorrectas. Este parámetro condicional funciona como cuando devuelve True, el archivo se está instalando, si es False se omite. Por lo tanto, debe devolver la función True to VCRedistNeedsInstall cuando desee instalar sus bibliotecas de tiempo de ejecución, si no es así. La función auxiliar VCVersionInstalled que utiliza constantes que comienzan con VC_ aquí devuelve True cuando el paquete está instalado, de lo contrario, False.

Se agregaron códigos de productos VC ++ 2012. Tenga en cuenta que el paquete redistribuible instala dos cosas, el tiempo de ejecución mínimo y el tiempo de ejecución adicional.
