Firebase RecyclerView: sin adaptador conectado, omitiendo el diseƱo del fragmento (0)

Tengo una actividad que aloja un TabLayout con 3 pestañas. Estoy intentando cargar una vista de reciclador basada en datos dinámicos en Firebase y la vista de reciclador simplemente no está llenando ninguna vista. No estoy seguro de si tiene que ver con el adaptador FragmentSectionPager o qué, pero no tengo suerte cargando el RecyclerView real.
