SIGTERM es la señal enviada a un proceso para solicitar su terminación. La constante simbólica para SIGTERM se define en el archivo de cabecera signal.h. Los nombres simbólicos de las señales se utilizan porque los números de las señales pueden variar en todas las plataformas, sin embargo, en la gran mayoría de los sistemas, SIGTERM es la señal # 15.
Esto comenzó a suceder hace tres semanas más o menos. El contenido de mi sitio web no ha cambiado, es solo un foro phpBB que usa MySQL como back-end.
Nada ha cambiado en más de un año, pero recientemente, cada dos días más o menos, el servidor simplemente se apaga y no se puede acceder en absoluto, tengo que notificar a mi proveedor de servicios para reiniciar físicamente la máquina.
Parece estar relacionado con estos errores SIGTERM que encuentro en los registros. El problema es que no tengo idea de cómo solucionar este tipo de cosas o encontrar la causa porque mis habilidades en esta área son insuficientes.

SIGTERM se utiliza para reiniciar Apache (siempre que esté configurado en init para reiniciar automáticamente): http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/stopping.html
Las entradas que ve en los registros casi seguramente existen porque su proveedor usó SIGTERM para ese propósito. Si realmente se cuelga, ni siquiera sirve contenido estático, entonces eso suena como un problema de agotamiento de hilos / conexiones. Tal vez un DoS que mantiene conexiones abiertas?
Definitivamente debería ser algo para que tu proveedor investigue.
Tuve misteriosos cierres SIGTERM en nuestro servidor LAMP, y resultó ser un error en un módulo PHP personalizado, que fue causado por versiones no coincidentes. Se encontró al buscar en los registros de acceso / error de apache en el momento del mal funcionamiento. No olvide activar el registro de errores.
