Nota: Si, por ejemplo, el iPhone 6 está en modo ampliado, la IU es una versión ampliada del iPhone 5. Estas funciones no determinan el tipo de dispositivo, pero el modo de visualización, por lo tanto, iPhone 5 es el resultado deseado en este ejemplo.

¿Cómo detectar el modelo de dispositivo por macro? He usado algo como esto, pero el resultado en el simulador siempre es IS_IPHONE_5
#define IS_IPAD (UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() == UIUserInterfaceIdiomPad)

Encontré el problema al migrar de un proyecto iOS 7 a un proyecto iOS 8, ya que no agregué una escena de pantalla de inicio a mi proyecto.
En este caso, el tamaño de la pantalla para iPhone 6 y 6+ es como iPhone 5.
Ver de la documentación de Apple; Utiliza un archivo XIB o storyboard de inicio para indicar que su aplicación se ejecuta en iPhone 6 Plus o iPhone 6.
Es mejor no vincular su código con los tipos de dispositivos. Esto conducirá a una enrevesada inflexible. Apple quiere que pienses en tamaños, no en dispositivos. En caso de que necesite tener tamaños especiales para dispositivos más grandes que el iPhone 5, como los tamaños de imagen o fuente, recomendaría crear una clase normalizada con un multiplicador que aumente su tamaño base en un cierto porcentaje en función de la relación entre la pantalla del iPhone 5 ancho y el tamaño actual del dispositivo.
let BaseWidth : CGFloat = 320
class Normalizer: NSObject {
//scale value proportional to the screen width
class func normalize(value:CGFloat,multiplier : CGFloat = 1,maxDelta:CGFloat = 1024) -> CGFloat{
let screenWidth = UIScreen.mainScreen().bounds.size.width
let percent = (screenWidth - BaseWidth)/screenWidth
let normalizedValue = value * (1 + percent) * multiplier
return min(normalizedValue, value + maxDelta)//capped by a max value if needed
}
}
Entonces, en su código, hará algo así:
value = Normalizer.normalize(30)
Extensión UIDeivce con sintaxis Swift 3+ .
public extension UIDevice {
var iPhone: Bool {
return UIDevice().userInterfaceIdiom == .phone
}
enum ScreenType: String {
case iPhone4
case iPhone5
case iPhone6
case iPhone6Plus
case iPhoneX
case Unknown
}
var screenType: ScreenType {
guard iPhone else { return .Unknown}
switch UIScreen.main.nativeBounds.height {
case 960:
return .iPhone4
case 1136:
return .iPhone5
case 1334:
return .iPhone6
case 2208, 1920:
return .iPhone6Plus
case 2436:
return .iPhoneX
default:
return .Unknown
}
}
}
Uso de la muestra:
switch UIDevice().screenType {
case .iPhone4, .iPhone5:
// Code for iPhone 4 & iPhone 5
break
case .iPhone6:
// Code for iPhone 6 & iPhone 7
break
case .iPhone6Plus:
// Code for iPhone 6 Plus & iPhone 7 Plus
break
case .iPhoneX:
// Code for iPhone X
break
default:
break
}

Para Swift:
struct ScreenSize
{
static let SCREEN_WIDTH = UIScreen.main.bounds.size.width
static let SCREEN_HEIGHT = UIScreen.main.bounds.size.height
static let SCREEN_MAX_LENGTH = max(ScreenSize.SCREEN_WIDTH, ScreenSize.SCREEN_HEIGHT)
static let SCREEN_MIN_LENGTH = min(ScreenSize.SCREEN_WIDTH, ScreenSize.SCREEN_HEIGHT)
}
struct DeviceType
{
static let IS_IPHONE_4_OR_LESS = UIDevice.current.userInterfaceIdiom == .phone && ScreenSize.SCREEN_MAX_LENGTH < 568.0
static let IS_IPHONE_5 = UIDevice.current.userInterfaceIdiom == .phone && ScreenSize.SCREEN_MAX_LENGTH == 568.0
static let IS_IPHONE_6 = UIDevice.current.userInterfaceIdiom == .phone && ScreenSize.SCREEN_MAX_LENGTH == 667.0
static let IS_IPHONE_6P = UIDevice.current.userInterfaceIdiom == .phone && ScreenSize.SCREEN_MAX_LENGTH == 736.0
}
Para más, también debes verificar el zoom
struct DeviceType
{
static let IS_IPHONE = (UIDevice.current.userInterfaceIdiom == .phone)
static let IS_IPHONE_4_OR_LESS = UIDevice.current.userInterfaceIdiom == .phone && ScreenSize.SCREEN_MAX_LENGTH < 568.0
static let IS_IPHONE_5 = UIDevice.current.userInterfaceIdiom == .phone && ScreenSize.SCREEN_MAX_LENGTH == 568.0
static let IS_IPHONE_6_7 = (UIDevice.current.userInterfaceIdiom == .phone) && (ScreenSize.SCREEN_MAX_LENGTH == 667.0) && (UIScreen.main.nativeScale >= UIScreen.main.scale)
private static let IS_STANDARD_IPHONE_6P_7P = UIDevice.current.userInterfaceIdiom == .phone && ScreenSize.SCREEN_MAX_LENGTH == 736.0
private static let IS_ZOOMED_IPHONE_6P_7P = (UIDevice.current.userInterfaceIdiom == .phone) && (ScreenSize.SCREEN_MAX_LENGTH == 667.0) && (UIScreen.main.nativeScale < UIScreen.main.scale)
static let IS_IPHONE_6P_7P = IS_STANDARD_IPHONE_6P_7P || IS_ZOOMED_IPHONE_6P_7P
}
Puedo confirmar que el error desaparece cuando configura una pantalla de inicio.
Mantuve mis imágenes de inicio, agregué MainStoryboard a Launch Screen y el simulador reconoció los dispositivos correctamente.
Yo uso una clase que extrae información real del sistema. Solo tiene que asegurarse de que todos los tipos de dispositivos estén actualizados.
