Maven con Surefire se niega a ejecutar un solo método de prueba?

He intentado usar Maven con el plugin Surefire para ejecutar algunas pruebas de unidad JUnit.

Siguiendo las instrucciones proporcionadas por Maven y la gente de Surefire aquí: http://maven.apache.org/surefire/maven-surefire-plugin/examples/single-test.html

Mi comando para maven es el siguiente:

mvn clean -Dtest-group=regression -Dtest=TestClass#testMethod test

TestGroup se extrae de una declaración @IfProfileValue y siempre ha funcionado:

@IfProfileValue(name = "test-group", values = {"regression"})

Sin embargo, después de ejecutar el comando, a pesar de estar seguro de que testClass tiene un método llamado testMethod (que se ejecutaría si no agregué el #testMethod al comando) mi salida es la siguiente:

Quizás esto se debe al error SUREFIRE-1028 en Surefire 2.16 y 2.17. Este error está solucionado en Surefire 2.18.

¿Puede actualizar y decirnos si su problema está solucionado con Surefire 2.18 o no?
