Cómo actualizar la versión de mysql en xampp

Question

Estoy tratando de upgrade mysql en xamp . Estoy usando laravel que requiere mariaDB v10.2.2 . Así que descargué el latest msi package del mariaDB website . Ahora seguí los siguientes puntos para instalar lo mismo:

• Instalar MySQL a C: / TEMP.
• Convierte la carpeta de instalación anterior en mysql_old.
• copie las siguientes carpetas "bin, include, lib, share, support-files" a la carpeta xamp / mysql /. No copié la carpeta de datos
• Copié el archivo my.ini de la instalación anterior a la nueva instalación en la carpeta xamp / mysql / bin /
• Copió la carpeta de datos anterior a la nueva carpeta mysql

Ahora, después de hacer esto, traté de iniciar mysql desde el panel de control y se muestran los siguientes errores:

Simplemente elimine esta línea de my.ini :

 innodb_additional_mem_pool_size = 2M

Fue "desaprobado en MySQL 5.6.3, se eliminan en MySQL 5.7.4".
