Mi solución a este problema es básicamente la apariencia relacionada con la respuesta de @NicolasMiari en este hilo. La clase de utilidad separada tiene un conjunto predefinido de nombres de dispositivos y máquinas y luego, dependiendo del nombre real de la máquina, recupere el nombre del dispositivo.

Una categoría para alejarse de la descripción de NSString
En general, es conveniente evitar comparaciones de cadenas arbitrarias en todo el código. Es mejor actualizar las cadenas en un lugar y ocultar la cadena mágica de tu aplicación. Proporciono una categoría en UIDevice

Para ahorrar tiempo de los demás. Debido a que fue aceptado, debo votar, proponer una biblioteca que use API privada y mi aplicación fue rechazada debido a uidevice-extension ¡ayer mismo!
